If you're ever in Keene, NH, make sure to visit Soles, a true hidden gem. As you approach the old shoe store, you'll notice signs indicating closure due to prohibition. But fear not—there's a payphone outside; simply pick it up and call the person inside. After stating how many pairs of shoes you desire (we requested two), they'll come out and lead you into the secret speakeasy restaurant and bar. The cocktails are exceptional, the locally sourced charcuterie board is divine, and the meals are unbelievably delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and if you're intrigued by the Robin Williams mural, it's a tribute to the star of "Jumanji," which was filmed in Keene.

Wow, this place is super cool!I love how they commit 100% to the speakeasy theme. Everything from simply entering the business to all the details inside. It's a real atmosphere, and it's a blast.On top of that, the service is fantastic. The food is delicious. The drink menu is good and promises to grow (I was told they will start carrying higher end choices soon, starting with Glenmorangie Signet - a fantastic bottle).I really love everything about this place and can hardly wait to go back! I think it's the coolest idea and so well executed...very impressive for Keene NH. Kudos!

BEWARE! I was admitted inside after speaking through the payphone requesting to buy shoes. They will peep through a keyhole to make sure you are not law enforcement before letting you in so leave those uniforms outside. Once inside, they did provide me with a cover and a menu with shoes in it but in reality, it's a secret bar and restaurant in a cozy atmosphere. They do accommodate substitutions when ordering for a fee if you prefer to customize. Make sure to order the correct size and tip the cover.

Food was awesome and served at proper temp. Presentation was thoughtful.Drink menu is extensive and broad . Drinks were well maid and minor changes made at our requests were followed to the letter. We can’t say enough about the wait staff. Everyone we encountered from the greeting to the exit were all friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the entire menu. Very reminiscent of the speakeasies down south. Highly recommend for a fun night out.. Enjoy!

I had their mushroom ravioli with braised green beans. It was one of the top 5 meals of my life! So delicious that I actually dreamed about it all night long.Pleasant environment. Attentive staff. Excellent cocktails.

This place is awesome. If your looking to just kick back have some tunes playing in the background all sorts of art and newspaper clippings on the wall to look at. Couches, you will melt in to them while you vibe to your alcoholic beverage laughing and having a great time. Bartenders know what they are doing and they are fast.Claire made our drinks, top notch. I encourage you to come by and ask about the name of the soles Great place!

This restaurant was remarkable, it put a smile on my face that stuck almost the entire time I was there. My server was lovely, she was so personable and made me feel so welcome as a first time customer. The atmosphere was immaculate, everything from the lighting, pictures in frames, to the comfy chairs. I got the meatloaf and it was absolutely delicious, best dining experience I have had in keene.

Had a burger which was better than most I've ever eaten. Great ambience, service, and experience. Loved the set-up and secrecy of it all.
